3. CONSTRUCTION
General
M/Y Aris-Tima originally was built as a fishing trawler for Northern European waters.
The ship served for many years in the fishing industry and around 2003 the Dutch government
decided to reorganise the fleet into a smaller number of vessels.
The current owners bought the vessel mid 2003 with the idea to covert her into a professional
explorer yacht for circum navigation. Together with Maaskant Shipyards and their own
management team, owners succeeded to bring the best of two world’s into one beautiful yacht
project.
This already proven trawler concept can offer sailors maximum comfort and an excellent sea keep
ability during ocean voyages. The tasteful redesigned interior, fine selected carpentry work and
general overhaul of all systems/ machineries has changed the vessel into a very admirable
explorer yacht with ca.
12.000 NM range!
